Yep. Kahlúa contains about 100 ppm caffeine, which means about 100ml/ litre of product. So, for a standard 1.5 oz drink of Kahlúa there would be about 5 mg of caffeine.

Just to put it in perspective, an 8 oz brewed coffee can contain up to about 200mg of caffeine.

Kahlúa can be enjoyed on the rocks (try a White Russian), over ice cream (try an Affogato Martini), mixed within a hot drink (try a Kahlúa Coffee or Kahlúa Hot Cocoa), or used within baking recipes. You can also try mixing up one of our popular recipes, the classic Espresso Martini.

Yes, in some markets such as the UK and Canada (for now). We have decided to reduce the ABV level from 20% to 16%. This is to better answer a growing consumer demand for lower ABV products. Our new bottle maintains the original taste profile and texture.

The price remains the same, as the ingredients and product remain the same high quality. Our product still maintains that great real coffee taste!

Nope. We’ve kept the coffee in Kahlúa the same. However, some may find the notes of coffee more prominent.

The cane sugar has been decreased by a small amount in each 700ml bottle, to match the lower ABV level. It is now to 3.5 grams, meaning there’s 7 kcal less, per 30ml EU serving size.

There’s no need to change the way you make Kahlúa cocktails at home. The new formula still blends itself perfectly to the same cocktail recipes it previously did.

Yes! There’s no need to get rid of your old bottle.

Nope. There’s no need to remove any older Kahlúa stock. In future, the 16% ABV level bottle will be the only formula produced.

The LOT code is a combination of letters and numbers and usually lasered onto the glass or the label.

For Kahlúa Original, we recommend a shelf life of 4 years.

Actually, the product will be good for many more years, but the coffee impact fades over time so it won’t give you the full flavor impact. Also, if you were to receive an old bottle of Kahlúa, you have to make sure it has never been opened or tampered with.

The Kahlúa Flavors have a recommended shelf life of 2 years.

The Kahlúa RTD’s have a recommended shelf life of 1 year.

No, Kahlúa Original does not contain milk, cream or any milk derived ingredients.

Kahlúa Espresso Martini RTD’s and Kahlúa Nitro Cold Brew RTD’s also do not contain milk or cream.

Please note, these products are lactose free, but not acceptable for a vegan diet.

However, Kahlúa Mudslide RTD, White Russian RTD, Vanilla White Russian RTD, and Kahlua with Milk RTD do contain milk and/or milk proteins.

Nope! There are no nuts, coconut or tree nuts of any kind in Kahlúa Original and Flavors.

Kahlúa Original, Kahlúa Flavors and Kahlúa Ready-To-Drink (RTD’s) are NOT acceptable for a vegan or vegetarian diet.

We do not add animal derivatives into our products, however, one of our sugar suppliers uses a process that is not considered vegan-friendly. While this is a common practise in the sugar industry, it unfortunately also means we are unable to call Kahlúa suitable for a vegan or vegetarian diet.

The processes of distillation should eliminate cereal proteins from distilled spirits drinks and therefore distilled drinks are generally accepted for a gluten-free diet.

We do not add any known gluten ingredients in Kahlúa Original or the Kahlúa Flavors. Please note however, that we cannot offer specific advice, and recommend that you discuss these matters with your medical or dietetic advisors.

Although our coffee cocktail recipes have recommended measurements based on Kahlúa, for non-alcoholic substitions, you can try using coffee, chocolate extract or coffee flavored syrup.
